Fast-rising Ghanaian artiste Morgan Nero has finally opened up about the opportunities and significance of winning the 2026 TGMA Unsung Artiste of the Year award.

According to the talented musician, the victory represents more than just a personal achievement, describing it as a symbol of hope and breakthrough for many upcoming artistes in the Volta Region.
Breaking into Ghana’s music industry and emerging as the winner of the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Unsung Artiste category, Morgan Nero said, is a true testament to hard work, perseverance, and belief in local talent.

“You call it Unsung Artiste, but I call it hope. This is like a breakthrough for me,” he stated.
Speaking to 3Entertainment’s Naphtali Baah, the artiste explained that the recognition has proven that musicians from the Volta Region can gain national attention while staying true to their cultural identity and musical roots.
“I feel so great and unique believing that we are based in the Volta Region doing Volta music or music in our mother tongue, and then we are able to get recognition here in Accra. It is a blessing,” he said.

Morgan Nero further emphasized that despite the growing fame and opportunities, he has no intention of changing his musical style or abandoning his native language to fit mainstream expectations.
“This is what my people know me for, and this is why we were able to win. This is who we are and we have to remain like this,” he noted.
He also encouraged music lovers to appreciate and embrace sounds from different parts of Ghana, especially music from the Volta Region.
“I am not going to change my style for you. You have to change your way of listening to music and come to appreciate what we do in the Volta Region,” he added.
Morgan Nero’s victory has since been celebrated by many as a major milestone for the Volta music scene and an inspiration to emerging artistes across the region.
